Fire Spy is a machine learning project I worked on as part of a case competition in high school. The project used a drone to map wildfires using the yolov3 algorithm. The prototype of the project ran on a DJI Tello drone which streamed data via the Tello SDK to a server through the internet. Although the majority of the project used code adapted from the following repository. It helped introduce me to Tensorflow, NumPy, and OpenCV. The project gave me a better appreciation and understanding of machine learning and neural networks. I worked on the project with business-oriented classmates and I was able to look at the project from a new perspective. The project involved collaboration, market validation, and used a holistic engineering approach. Here are a few testimonials:
